The husband dreams about his wife leaving, he attempts to save the relationship. In his wakefulness, he finds their life standing still before them, not knowing whether what just happened was reality or merely a dream.
Born in 1991, Wu Lang is a Chinese director. After graduating from college with a degree in Sculpture, he has actively engaged in teaching, documentary and commercials. In 2021, his short film Absense was nominated for Best Short Film at the 74th Cannes. His first feature film under the same name Absence premiered in Berlinale Encounters competition in 2023, and was invited to ND/NF, Hong Kong IFF Young Cinema competition, Jeonju FF International Competition, Brussels IFF Competiton, etc.
